St. Jeanne Jugan Catholic Church – Infinity is an outstation of St. Dominic Savio Mwiki Parish, serving the Catholic community in Infinity and the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Our story began on 8 September 2018, when Fr. Godfrey Ngugi, then priest in charge of St. Dominic Savio Mwiki Parish, met Patrick Kiboi and Mary Munene in Infinity Estate. During his morning jogs, he had recognised that Infinity lay within the Mwiki parish boundaries and shared his vision of establishing a Catholic outstation in the area.
With the help of the first Christians, Fr. Godfrey acquired a plot. On 9 September 2018, the first Mass was celebrated on open ground. A red Coca-Cola table became the altar, families carried chairs from their homes, and 23 Christians from about eight families gathered in faith.
One week later, Mass was celebrated beneath a half-built structure. The congregation continued to grow, and the community offered money, building materials, labour, and prayer to make a permanent spiritual home possible.
We remain part of the wider parish family, united in worship, pastoral care, mission, and mutual support.
Each step in our journey was made possible by Christians who prayed, gave, built, and trusted God together.
As Fr. Godfrey preached beneath the unroofed structure, Maasai herdsmen and their livestock paused to watch. Despite the scorching sun and interruptions, Mass continued. In consultation with interim officials and the Christians present, the church was named after St. Jeanne Jugan.
Parish leaders and Christians arrived in two buses, carrying their own chairs. The buses sheltered the open structure from wind and dust. After Mass, services paused so the proper handover of Infinity’s St. John Paul II jumuiya from St. Joseph Freinademetz Catholic Parish could be completed.
Christians attended Mass in other local Catholic churches while continuing construction. Donated materials were kept safely at the homes of Patricia Wairimu and Joyce Kabiru until they were needed at the site.
After the official handover of Infinity Catholics on 25 November, His Lordship Rt. Rev. David Kamau Ng’ang’a, then Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Nairobi, officially opened and consecrated St. Jeanne Jugan Catholic Church.
The first executive was introduced: Simon Njeru, Chairman; James Muchoki, Vice Chairman; Joyce Kabiru, Secretary; Patrick Kiboi, Vice Secretary; and Angeline Muthama, Treasurer.
Fr. Godfrey was transferred to Gatundu Parish soon afterwards. On 6 December, Fr. Victor Maina was introduced as the new priest in charge. The community remains grateful for Fr. Godfrey’s vision, courage, and commitment. On 27 December, members visited the Little Sisters of the Poor in Kasarani and helped with daily work at their home for older persons.
On 3 March, Fr. Victor formed Blessed Irene Nyaatha, St. Rita, and St. John Eudes jumuiyas. A major harambee on 7 April raised KSh 2,360,962; KSh 1,335,000 purchased the neighbouring plot. A third plot was acquired on 19 July through further donations. Christians also built a toilet, which Fr. Wamugi blessed on 16 June.
St. Matthias Mulumba jumuiya was formed from St. Rita in March. Soon afterwards, the COVID-19 outbreak closed churches for several months. The community persevered, and in 2021 celebrated its patron saint’s day while still observing mask precautions.
Seventeen men were commissioned on 13 March under their first moderator, Innocent Muthama. Membership has grown to 21. The group purchased a tent and chairs for church occasions and, in 2024, began a multipurpose shade for group meetings—living its motto, “Good Family, Good Church, Good Society.”
Fourteen women were commissioned in September under their first moderator, Elizabeth Keshoke. The association has since grown to 29 commissioned members serving the Church, families, and community.
From 23 Christians on open ground, God has formed a vibrant community rooted in the Eucharist and strengthened by shared responsibility.
We gather in prayer, celebrate the sacraments, grow through Catholic formation, and serve with the humility and tenderness exemplified by our patron, St. Jeanne Jugan.
We seek to be a joyful Catholic community where every person belongs, gifts are shared, families are strengthened, vocations are encouraged, and Christ’s love becomes visible.

Our parish priest and current outstation leaders coordinate church life, stewardship, and our shared mission.
Our history is a testimony to pastoral care, generous service, and a community willing to build together.
Our priests: Fr. Godfrey Ngugi, Fr. Victor Maina, Fr. Bernard Ndichu, Fr. John Njenga, and assisting priests who have ensured regular Sunday Mass, holy days of obligation, and celebrations requested by families and groups.
Our catechists: Isaac, Cosmas, and Peter, for formation, pastoral guidance, baptisms, and catechism classes led by trained Catholic catechists.
Our founding leaders and Christians: for the pledges, harambees, labour, courage, and steady moral and financial support that established and continue to develop the church.
Our partners: Caritas Microfinance Bank for financing land purchases; St. Dominics Self Help Group for fencing, a water tank, and gutters; and St. Dominic Savio parishioners and friends for prayer and support towards the ongoing church loan.
We also celebrate the four members of our community who were conferred with the Senecio sacrament. May everything entrusted to us continue to build faith for generations to come.
Our church was built through people showing up with faith and whatever they could offer. That same welcome remains open to you today.
